What does an average day in the life of the Co-Managing Director of Derma Aesthetics look like?
What is average?! What I love about my position in Derma is that there is no average for me! One day I could be waking up in Perth taking education, another day in New Zealand to see my team & heading out on the road to see clients, or another popping into Sydney HQ for a day of planning and meetings.
But, every morning at 6.15am, my alarm goes off. I always start the day with a cup of tea, first thing in bed watching the 6.30am news.
If I’m home, I’ll knock over some house duties then shower. When I’m home, I love to go makeup free or apply just a light coverage of dermaviduals deco Bespoke Foundation.
Then, it is time to check emails, any internal communication with the Derma Team and have a good 15 minute catch up with my EA, Jane, and then it is time to get to work! On any given day I could be:
- Flying to a new location
- Educating others
- Educating myself to bring new education to others
- Working on social media
- Staff training and development
- Putting fires out when needed (but not often in our company, luckily!)
- Developing new products
- Working with suppliers
- Thinking up new designs and campaigns
- Making time for my family, which is so important to me
Before I turn in for the night, I love a herbal tea and will always read before I close down for the night to do it all again tomorrow!
As you can see there is no average day and I like it like this!
If you weren’t doing skin, what would you want to do?
I believe it would be something creative – I do love photography and design. The other thing I have a true passion for is educating others, so teaching could be on the cards. But truly I couldn’t see myself not working in this amazing industry that I belong to!
