Merry Christmas from Team Derma! And a big warm welcome to 2021. Our team have all looked back on the year that was and despite saying ‘Good Riddance’ to 2020 we have also all taken away so many positives.
2020 has seen Team Derma set the standard with some outstanding virtual education, an on-topic virtual Skin Summit with twelve amazing Presenters and a sell out audience of our amazing derma supporters, we’ve had a smooth transition from office to working from home and back again and are ready to launch some brand new initiatives coming in 2021. We look forward to rolling these out to you in the New Year!
At this time of year, and in lieu of Christmas cards and presents for our amazing partner clinics, we have made a donation to the Womans Resilience Centre, a program that seeks to change the legacies of women and their families, and to The SPCA (Royal New Zealand Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals Incorporated).
Following you can learn more about our chosen charities in Australia and New Zealand that are doing incredible things to make our world a better place!
Womens Resilience Centre
“The Women’s Resilience Centre is a place of hope, healing & recovery for women who have experienced domestic abuse and trauma.”
A range of services from learning modules in the Online Resilience Clinic to face-to-face treatment in the residential program are on offer. 1 in 4 Australian women are affected by violence, with one woman dying every 8 days due to domestic violence and abuse. This amazing cause is determined to put a stop to this violence and bring awareness and support through our community.
The Centre offers accommodation for women in need and combines a clinical program of recovery, with a paired mentor program between survivors and previous attendees.
They deliver a combination of life skills to women including resilience, purpose, trauma resolution, rebuilding self-esteem and giving them back agency for their decisions and future, if you know anyone in need of the support from this programme, you can contact them here: 1800RESPECT (1800 737 732) 💙
Royal New Zealand Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals Incorporated
The SPCA helps protect over 40,000 animals in New Zealand every year. From animals who are simply abandoned….through to those that are sick, injured, or abused.”Together, we help the animals that so desperately need it, and bring justice to those who have failed these innocent animals”.
The SPCA Inspectors work to support and enforce the laws relating to the treatment of animals and bring prosecutions where necessary. At their animal centres they give sanctuary to animals in distress and re-home suitable animals whenever possible.
”SPCA believes that engaging, educating and building relationships with our communities and government is key to improving animal welfare in New Zealand. Like you, we want every animal to receive the love and respect they deserve” 🐾
Have a wonderful festive season!
